The hoodie is the piece that best sums up a Belgian rider's daily life: you grab it to check the waves at Ostend at sunrise, to hang around the skatepark, to finish a long day at the office, or to grab a coffee between sessions. At BINDY, we design men's hoodies that own that versatility — warm, sturdy, built to last more than five washes.

Designed in Brussels, manufactured in Portugal using GOTS organic cotton, our hooded sweatshirts tell the ride culture our way: no flash, with character, and always a story behind the print.

What makes a BINDY hoodie

We don't drop a hoodie every month for the sake of it. Each model has to tick four non-negotiable boxes:

  • 350 g/m² weight — heavy enough to keep you warm on the Ostend dike on a November morning, light enough to wear in transitional seasons without feeling stiff.
  • Lined hood with recycled metal drawcord — a detail that changes everything over time: plastic tips snap, recycled metal lasts for years.
  • Reinforced kangaroo pocket — deep enough to fit a wax bar, a phone, keys, or just sink your hands when the north wind kicks in.
  • Ribbed cuffs and hem — so the hoodie keeps its shape and doesn't sag after ten machine cycles.

Inside brushing is deliberately soft, with no excessive pilling. Organic cotton outside, organic fleece inside — no added polyester to fake volume.

Our men's hoodie collections

BINDY doesn't run an endless catalogue. Each collection tells a chapter of Belgian ride culture — and each chapter exists in hoodie and t-shirt form, so you can build a coherent look:

  • HELLO BEACH — coastal spirit. The hoodie you throw on to check the morning session, soft colours, vintage chest motif.
  • BINDY ISLAND — an ode to the Belgian coast as an archipelago to explore. Landscape visual on the back.
  • RIDE IT ALL — the BINDY manifesto: ride the wave, ride the street, ride your day. Signature typography, discrete chest branding.
  • SKATE WAVE — where skate meets surf. Wider cut, bold graphic on the back.
  • SURF CLUB — tribute to Belgian surf pioneers, hoodie version. Regular cut, chest embroidery.
  • WORLDWIDE & WILDERNESS — for riders who look beyond the North Sea and always chase new spots.

More references drop with each season — we grow on purpose at a slow pace, no overproduction.

GOTS organic cotton, serious certifications

The vast majority of our hoodies are made in GOTS-certified organic cotton (Global Organic Textile Standard) — the global benchmark for organic cotton, controlling everything from the field to the finished garment: no pesticides, water preserved, working conditions respected.

Depending on the model, we blend in recycled polyester for fleece structure, and we work with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 suppliers (zero harmful substances tested batch by batch) and PETA-approved Vegan partners (no animal-derived components, including dyes).

Designed in Belgium. Every BINDY hoodie is conceived and drawn in Brussels, then manufactured in Portugal in audited workshops we've partnered with long-term. Drawcords are recycled metal, labels are woven cotton (no plastic).

Hoodie or crewneck sweatshirt?

If you're hesitating between a hoodie (with hood) and a crewneck sweatshirt (round neck, no hood), here's how we'd settle it:

  • The hoodie is warmer, more versatile outdoors, perfect for outdoor sessions, dike walks, cool evenings. The hood protects from wind and light rain.
  • The crewneck sweatshirt is more refined, better suited to the office, layered under a jacket or trench, and offers a more casual chic look. See crewneck sweatshirts →

Many in the BINDY community own both: a crewneck for weekdays, a hoodie for weekends and sessions.

Fits: regular or oversize

Across the men's hoodie line, we mainly offer two cuts:

  • Regular — straight cut, not too tight, not too loose. Our default fit for HELLO BEACH, RIDE IT ALL, SURF CLUB. Pick your usual size.
  • Oversize / boxy — on collections like SKATE WAVE and BINDY ISLAND, we go for dropped shoulders and longer sleeves, inspired by 90s skate culture. Stick to your size for a controlled oversize look, or go down one size for a more moderate fit.

The 350 g/m² weight stays constant across the collection — what changes is the cut and branding. Exact weight and composition are shown on each product page.

Why choose BINDY for your men's hoodie

🇧🇪 A genuinely Belgian brand

Design, art direction, marketing — everything happens in Belgium. When you wear a BINDY hoodie, you're wearing a local brand that pays its taxes here.

🌱 Material choices we own

GOTS organic cotton, recycled polyester, Oeko-Tex and Vegan suppliers. We don't fake the eco angle — all certifications are verifiable.

🎨 Designs that mean something

Each hoodie tells a story — a beach, a session, a state of mind. Not generic stock graphics bought in bulk.

🤝 Built to last

350 g/m² cotton, recycled metal drawcords, solid ribbed cuffs. Our goal: a BINDY hoodie that lasts 5 years, not 5 washes.

Care: making it last

A few simple rules to keep your BINDY hoodie looking sharp:

  • Wash at 30°C inside out, with similar colours
  • No tumble dryer (flat drying preferred, on a hanger is fine)
  • No direct ironing on prints or embroidery
  • No bleach — it'll destroy the Oeko-Tex dyes
  • Drawcord: remove it before washing if you want to preserve its tension

Frequently asked questions

How do your hoodies fit?

Our regular fits run true to size — go with your usual size. For oversize cuts (SKATE WAVE, BINDY ISLAND), you can size down if you prefer a more moderate look. A full size guide will be available here shortly.

How warm is 350 g/m²?

It's the classic weight for a quality hoodie — warm enough for mid-season in Belgium and mild winter, to layer with a tech mid-layer or a sherpa jacket for serious cold. Warmer than a 280 g sweatshirt, lighter than a 450 g fleece.

Are your hoodies 100 % made in Belgium?

The design, yes — 100 % Belgian. The manufacturing, no: no Belgian textile facility can match our volumes and organic cotton requirements at a reasonable price. We manufacture mainly in Portugal, in certified workshops.

Do you offer exchanges and returns?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, in line with EU regulations. See our Shipping & Returns page.

Is BINDY only for surfers?

Not at all. A large part of our community will never surf — but they share the values we stand for: freedom, local roots, respect for living things, and the desire to wear meaningful pieces. If that resonates, BINDY is for you too.
